A few weeks ago I took a train to Munich to finally meet my dear friend Elefants in person. We ate a giant pizza and had an amazing afternoon together.
One week later Elefants came to visit me and we again had some great time. Oh, he even brought me a lovely present, Lilo & Stitch movie on DVD. We are both big fans of Disney and he knew I haven’t watched that one yet.
I watched the movie with my humans and I was so touched and inspired by the whole story. So far, it’s definitely one of my favourite Disney movies. A very special scene for me was one with Lilo and her doll Scrump. Scrump is a very distinct, unique plushie and she often feels lonely and unaccepted because of her unique looks. For Lilo, however, she was perfect, she was her family.
This scene inspired me to create an illustration for Lolle. Lolle is a friend of Elefants that I’ve also met and immediately become very close with. Lolle & Scrump has so much in common. They are both funny, interesting and very sweet. I know that Lolle also feels misunderstood sometimes because of her unique character and look, so I hope this illustration will make her feel better. She has a special place in my heart.
